a few of my favorite nursing stories...
today while putting off writing a paper, I got to looking at a Word document I created about some of my most “memorable” patients at work. Thought you’d like a few of them…
- after finding a patient naked in hallway he says to me, ”I want to lay on you.” I went on to ask him why that was and he just said, “because you look soft.” (how flattering)
- while fixing a patient’s...

off to the ballpark!
off to Milwaukee for a day of baseball, sun, beers and tailgating with my roommates. trying to enjoy as much of this gorgeous weather as I can since i’ll be inside most of the holiday weekend at work.
highlights from my trip to Seattle....
it was great to spend a few days in Seattle with Catherine. It gave us achance to catch-up (since I admit I am not a phone person and struggle to have meaningful conversations over the phone). I got to hear all the updates about her life, meet her friends, help her pick out a dress for a wedding, eat great food, and more! Plus I got to see one of my best-best friends from high school that I...
Feeling pretty lucky right now...
I just took a trip out west last month and now I’m leaving for SEATTLE tomorrow to visit my college roommate Catherine. Usually i’m not lucky enough to take two amazing trips so close together! To top it off the forecast is looking pretty good for the days that i’m there…
let the weekend begin....
yesterday I had an emotionally draining yet rewarding day at work so needless to say i’m excited for the weekend. potential highlights include:
-dinner tonight with friends
-consume a few beverages with said friends
-meet mom on Saturday for a day of shopping and lunching half-way between our homes so I can say “thanks” for being such a great Mom
-study for my grad school...

Favorite Glee quote of the night
“Now if you’ll excuse me-i need to put a call in to the Ohio Secretary of State notifying them I will no longer be carrying photo I.D. and you know why? People should know who I am.”—Sue Sylvester
And 2nd favorite: “I think my cat is reading my diary”- Cheerio
(as a side note…does anyone else agree that Glee has seemed more like a drama than a comedy...
favorite things in my neighborhood...wicker park
I love all of these places in my neighborhood for different reasons (and not just because they are all within 5 blocks) and am beginning to get a bit sad at the thought of moving to a different neighborhood in a couple months
Big Star- amazing outdoor patio. great, cheap tacos.
Boundary (below)- also an amazing outdoor area out front. appetizers and beer list make it even better

a conversation my dad and I were forced to take...
“yeah my daughter is doing REALLY well. And everyone at work loves her scrubs because I make them, I mean they LOVE them. She’s a size 2. I mean once she had that goiter removed she really trimmed down. She makes friends so easily.”
-I wish I could say the conversation was not as choppy as its written but it really did go just like that. I have never seen my dad try to get...
And my love for Modern Family continues....
“Mom I love you, but your words of encouragement encourage other kids to make fun of me”
-Manny on Modern Family (this show can make anybody in any kind of mood laugh)
VACATION TIME!
Survived my first couple day shifts at work (not as bad as I thought it might be*) and heading to California today to sip lots of wine, eat really good food and explore San Francisco and Napa
*I did however have nursing nightmares the night before (haven’t had them since I first became a nurse) where I had 8 patients and didn’t have time to see any of them (and one was Chad Ochocinco...
It's Miley!
Did I just download Miley Cyrus’ single from The Last Song? Maybe I did. $1.29 well spent thank you.
